“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed,” said Michael Jordan. This is Mr. Brian Russell’s, favorite quote. Mr. Russell is The Bolt’s March Staff Member of the Month. Mr. Russell’s mother inspired him to be a teacher, and he also wanted to teach so he could coach. Three characteristics that he likes in his classroom are motivation, work ethic and respect. Mr. Russell was asked the following question: If you weren’t a teacher, what would you be? He replied, “If I was not a teacher, I would work as a storm chaser or a meteorologist.” The first thing he would do if he won the lottery would be pay off his house. Then he would put money away for his daughters’ college and buy or become part owner of an NFL team.
Mr. Russell does not have any pet peeves as a teacher. In his spare time, he likes to play sports and spend time with his family. His favorite school lunch is pizza and breadsticks. The role models in his life are his grandfather and his father. He looks up to his grandfather because he had very good work ethic before he passed away. His father is his role model, as well, because he is a great example of how a person should live their life.
